Here are a few reasons: Our cotton diapers (‘prefolds’) are the highest quality around. You will never receive a ripped or stained diaper. You can count on your delivery arriving as planned each week. Your bag of diapers is personalized with a tag for your baby. We are on-call to talk you through cloth diapering problems. We are genuine about our commitment to protecting the environment: our delivery van runs on biodiesel, we carry biodegradable wipes and disposables, all of our printing is done on 100% post consumer recycled paper, and for a small surcharge ($10/month) we can deliver your diapers in cloth bags instead of plastic bags each week. We make your life easier by delivering all sorts of baby care products along with your diapers. We carry adorable diaper covers that don’t leak, and we provide each customer with a FREE snappi to hold your diapers on snugly to further prevent leaks.

What should I do if I am outside of your service area?

We have a few options if you are outside of our service area. Many people will arrange to have their diapers picked up/dropped off either at their car outside of their office in town, or on a friend's porch in town. Another option is to pick up and drop off your diapers at our warehouse in North Boulder; the price for this is $5/week less than standard service. Another option is to think about washing your own diapers. We sell everything you need to wash your own diapers, including cotton prefold diapers. What is included in my service?

Each week a fresh package of top-quality unbleached cotton prefold diapers are delivered to your door. A Snappi pin to help prevent leaks by making your diapers fit more snugly is free with your first delivery. Additional Snappi's can be purchased here. A sweet-smelling deodorizer is included free of charge and is replaced monthly. For $10/month surchage the diapers will be delivered in a waterproof cloth bag, which is designed to hang over your door handle as a diaper pail, or can be used as a pail liner. Included with service is subscription to a monthly e-newsletter for new and expecting moms published by the local group Bellies Birth and Babies. You also have the option of getting disposables, diaper wraps, and other diapering and pampering products delivered to your door. See our product catalog for more information on what we deliver.

How does the billing work?

Is The Changing Table more expensive than using disposables?

No, cloth diapering is a great way to save money. Okay, not enough to vacation in Hawaii, but probably enough to support your latte habit. Since children in cloth diapers potty train, on average, one year earlier than children using disposables, you also save a significant amount of money by cutting out that extra year of diapering.

How do I sign up for a registry, or buy a gift for someone?

How are the diapers washed?

Our diapers are professionally laundered to the highest standards of health and sanitation. Diapers are periodically sent to an independent labratory to test for sterility. They go through a multitude of rinses with extra-hot water (160*) in order to insure absolute cleanliness. They are free of perfumes and dyes, and have a neutral ph that will not irritate baby’s bum. The Changing Table consumes only half of the resources that would be used in a home washer to clean your diapers. We are always looking for ways to wash and deliver our diapers in a way that is even more environmentally responsible.

What should I do when I go on vacation?

You have so many diapering options! Which should I choose?

The Bumkins diaper covers are the most basic option, and are a great way to get started cloth diapering. We recommend starting with at least 4-6 of these covers. If you are interested in the flushable and compostable gDiapers, a starter kit lets you experiment with these innovative options without making a big commitment. Most families also want at least one package of disposables around in case you run out of cloth, or for traveling.

What is a good starter package for a new baby?

We suggest 6 diaper covers and service of 80 diapers per week. We also recommend a package of wipes, disposables, and diaper rash cream to get started. Other baby basics that we carry include baby soap for those first baths, nursing tea, and baby cream.

I have extra diapers at the end of the week, should I keep them?

Yes, please note the number of diapers that you are keeping each week and the next week you will receive the same amount that you sent back the week before.

What is special about your diapers?

We use the highest quality diapers on the market; our Chinese cotton prefolds are recognized as being the finest available. All of our diapers are unbleached. They are made in a privately owned factory with fair labor practices. This factory has been exporting their diapers to the U.S. for over a decade, and has earned a reputation for excellent quality.

I want to wash my own diapers

This is easy to do! We can provide everything that you need to get started. We suggest starting with 2 dozen prefolds ($1 - $2.75/each, depending on size) 2 cloth diaper pail liners ($25/each), 6 diaper covers ($15 each), and 2 deodorizers ($.50/each).
